    French President Says Attending Olympics Depends on Tibet Talks

    Dalai Lama’s envoys leave for China

    Shimla, June 30 (IANS) The Dalai Lama’s special envoys left for China Monday for the seventh round of negotiations with the leaders of Communist China over Tibet. Lodi Gyaltsen Gyari and Kelsang Gyaltsen will open their two-day talks in Beijing Tuesday.

    When I visited Woeser’s blog today….it had been hacked, yet again. But this time there was a picture of the People’s Republic of China flag and a slogan which read “Long Live the People’s Republic of China! Down With Tibet!” Other offensive things were written in doggerel English, but perhaps it was doggerel because of the translator I was using.

    Tibet-China talks to resume Monday: exiled PM

    The talks, initially to be held on June 11, were postponed following the massive May 12 earthquake that devastated parts of southwest China.

    Jampa and Rigzin Wangdon, both nuns from Dhargye Hardu nunnery, under Karze County, staged peaceful protest, at County government office on 23 May, calling for “freedom for Tibet”, “His Holiness the Dalai Lama must be welcomed to Tibet”, “long live His Holiness the Dalai Lama”, etc.
