China labels Tibetan Youth Congress as Terrorist Organization

lhakpatseringtyc.jpgFriday April 11, 2008 BEIJING: Chinese State media, labeled a group linked to the Dalai Lama’s India-based government-in-exile a “terrorist organization” - building on claims that recent anti-Chinese protests were part of a violent campaign to overthrow Chinese rule and sabotage the Beijing Olympics in August.

Tibetan Youth Congress, said China’s Communist leadership had long sought to destroy its effectiveness by smearing its reputation.

The accusations are part of a stepped-up condemnation of Tibetan protesters following massive demonstrations surrounding the passage of the Olympic torch through San Francisco, London and Paris this past week on its relay around the world.

China has held six rounds of contacts with representatives of the Dalai Lama with no apparent result, and has demanded he meet numerous preconditions before it will talk to him directly.

China’s propaganda machine and official mouthpiece of CCP ‘Xinhua’ News Agency accused the Tibetan Youth Congress of planning deadly rioting on March 14 in Tibet’s capital, Lhasa, saying this “exposed the terrorist nature” of the group.

Scholars say the Chinese accusations help the government justify its crackdown and demonize the opposition, while driving a wedge between the government-in-exile and groups like the Tibetan Youth Congress that have challenged the Dalai Lama’s policy of nonviolence.

Tibetan Youth Congress always remained a challenge to the Beijing regime due to its tough stance and non-violent direct action strategies. Tibetan Youth Congress doesn’t agree with Dalai Lama’s Middle way policy and pushes for Independence however the means to achieve has always remained the same, i.e. Non-Violence.

The group’s vice president, Dhondup Dorji, said China had no evidence for the claim. “The Chinese officials, after seeing that the Tibetan Youth Congress is the most potential force today in the peaceful movement in exile, have been trying to brand it as a terrorist organization for many years without any basis,” he said in New Delhi.

      Mao,

You make yourself lose more respect from the rest of us every time you post another comment. Please, do inform yourself of things which you pretend to know about.

As for Africa: Which part of Africa are you talking about? Africa is a continent, after all. It is a large continent, filled with many nations, civilizations and cultures. There are problem spots, but what continent is without those?

But I wouldn’t expect you, Mao, to know much about Africa, since most Chinese people’s opinions of Africa and African people are just as racist and insulting as the old white colonialists.

mao you are right, one should be loyal to your own country but when the head of your country commit crimes, kill innocents and do injustice then you cannot close your eyes and still support your country head.
No one should support Tibet or China but support the truth, justice and freedom. And the truth is that Tibet is screaming, china is slaying and the world is watching.

your folks should loyal only to your host country. Tibet ain’t your place. You don’t see American whites claiming they are loyal to England cause of their ancestors. No, they are only loyal to USA. Their birth place.

You folks should loyal to wherever the heck you were born.

      Mao,

You are not born in Tibet, nor are you Tibetan. You are just upset that there are people who disagree with your people’s imperialism and colonization over Tibet.

It makes me wonder if people who grow up as children of empires can ever understand what it means to have human dignity or freedom, so enamored as such imperial children are with their own self-righteous statements about the “good” they bring to those they try to crush.

It is sickening to see Chinese people who think they own Tibet so much that they get to determine who is or is not Tibetan. That way of thinking is pure colonialism, plain and simple.

Mao, why don’t you stick to China? Why don’t you and your fellow imperial children of the Han simply just stick to China and leave Tibet and Tibetans alone? Or maybe it’s that you think that since the Americans could get away with genocide and conquest in North America, you Chinese should be allowed to get away with it in Tibet?

Go back home keep smoking whatever that crack is that Xinhua keeps dealing you.
